“There were several bands out there playing the Heart material, but we felt like we could do it with better justice than other people - like playing it close to the recordings and the arrangements and tempos and everything. * Though Heart By Heart grew out of a one-off performance at a private show where he met Macek, Fossen, 73, says phone that there was a simple reason to make the band a going concern. Both were with the band through 1982, playing on Heart’s first six albums and hits such as “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” “Barracuda,” “Straight On” and more. The Seattle group features two members from Heart’s heyday - original bassist Steve Fossen and drummer Michael DeRosier, who joined in 1975. In what’s become an overcrowded world of tribute bands, Heart By Heart stands apart from the pack - and for good reason.
